Thank you for being a part of the Sickle Cell warriors community. Here is the 2025 event calendar. Please note that these tentative dates are subject to change. Please keep in touch for updates.

Buffalo Sickle Cell Support Group 
​The Sickle Cell Support group meetings- will take place every 3rd Thursday of the month via zoom or in-person.
We ask that you register to be a part of the group and receive monthly updates.
Meeting times: 6:00 pm- 7:30 pm.

​ The next meeting will take place June 19th, 2025, which is also World Sickle Cell Day. 
We will not be meeting at our regular time. This is an in-person event.

World Sickle Cell Day Special edition support group celebration

Purpose: The World Sickle Cell Day Support Group Celebration is an event dedicated to honoring the memory of individuals who have succumbed to sickle cell disease and to celebrating the resilience of those affected. The celebration aims to provide families with a joyful and enriching experience, acknowledging the challenges posed by the disease.

The Sickle Cell Warriors of Buffalo, along with dedicated volunteers, proudly participated in the 49th Annual Juneteenth celebration this past weekend. Together, they marched to honor freedom and spread vital awareness about Sickle Cell disease within our community. This event serves as a powerful reminder of the strength and resilience of those affected by this condition. Thank you to everyone who joined us in this important cause!   
Sickle Cell Initiative Blood drives with our partners at The American Redcross of WNY.

Partnering with the American Redcross has been very beneficial to Sickle cell warriors Worldwide. the initiatives work to ensure the best blood donor match for individuals impacted by Sickle Cell disease who often rely on blood transfusions to treat symptoms of the disease. 

This summer SCWB and the Red Cross of WNY will host two Sickle Cell Blood drives and we are asking for your support. See details below. 

June 19, 2025- World Sickle Cell Day Blood drive, In honor of Warriors that we have lost to complications with Sickle Cell Disease.

The 6th annual walk for education turned out to be our most successful walk yet, thanks to all of our warriors, caregivers, volunteers, and more, who took their time out to support this event.

We have spent years volunteering our time to ensure that our families and warriors receive, the support, educational resources and easier access to healthcare that they deserve. each year we continue to shine the light on Sickle cell and highlight the importance of education and awareness for Sickle cell disease. We can only continue our mission with the support and dedication from our community members.
