This February 2026, SCWB will launch it's Young Scholar program for our community members impacted by Sickle Cell disease.

Scholarship Program Goals:
• Support educational advancement for individuals affected by Sickle Cell Disease.
•Empower youth and adults in the Buffalo community through financial aid and mentorship.
•Raise awareness and engagement around Sickle Cell advocacy through education.
Program Guidelines:
Requirements:
High school seniors, college students, or adult learners living with Sickle Cell Disease.
Immediate family members or caregivers of individuals with SCD.
Applicants must reside in Western New York.
Guidelines:
Amounts allotted: \$500–\$1,000 per recipient.
Use of Funds: Tuition, books, supplies, or educational fees.
Eligibility criteria:
Proof of Sickle Cell diagnosis or caregiver status.
Minimum GPA (e.g., 2.5 or higher).
Community involvement or advocacy experience.
Personal statement or essay.
Applications will be available February 1, 2026.
